If you're planning on buying your significant other a new car, make sure you speak with your auto insurance agent to find out how long you can wait to add it to your policy. If you add the new vehicle to the policy and your insurance company sends you a new ID card or updated policy documents, it could really throw a wrench in your surprise!
Diamonds are forever, as long as they don’t disappear!
If you're planning on buying an expensive watch or jewelry, it will most likely need to be added to you homeowners insurance or renters policy. When you purchase it, try to get an appraisal from the jeweler. Most companies require an appraisal to add jewelry to a policy. When you schedule jewelry on your homeowners or renters insurance policy, not only are you covering the jewelry but in most cases you are covering the jewelry better. Most scheduled jewelry will be covered even if you lose the jewelry, and sometimes if you lose a diamond from your jewelry.
